Musical instruments are used to produce musical sounds. Amazingly, origin of the first such instrument is known to be as old as 67,000 years. Flute-like instruments are found to be as old as 37,000 years. Almost every region and culture had its own set of musical instruments, while a few were common too. While it is not possible to know exactly when these instruments came into usage, yet one thing is known that they existed in many cultures and parts of worlds. They have been a part of various myths, legends, historical stories etc.
In present times, there is a wide range of musical instruments; some are very commonly used around the world. Some of the examples are drums, piano, violin, guitar and flute. Interestingly, there are numerous bizarre instruments too. The melody road is one of the examples to be considered here. This road is in Japan and has grooves. The music that comes out is not, as said, melodious or beautiful, yet is an innovation to give compliments to.
Another musical instrument is world’s smallest guitar; nano guitar. It is 10 micrometer is size and this can be compared to a single cell’s size. Another such instrument is a sea organ that is in Croatia and the first sea-played musical pipe organ. The steps are made out of white stone and below it are 35 musical tubes. Lastly, the loudest and largest musical instrument of the world is Convention Hall Organ at Atlantic City. The hall itself can accommodate 41,000 people at any time.
